With increase in Sewage generation, Centralized plant have Zero scope of capacity expansion.
Difficulty to meet existing norms due to every increasing complexity of Sewage.

Conventional Technologies lime Activated Sludge process were designed for Centralized solution.
ASP is very high of foot print,energy usage ,solid waste generation and skilled man power.
Decentralized plant start from an individual level,to single house,a building complex and for whole community.
Old technologies can not be scaled up.
Highfoot print prevents their use in densely populated urban centers which are hotspot of sewage pollution.
Options like MBBR and FAB need high investment and high level of technical expertise to generate consistent water quality of reuse.
Modular,Mobile and Package plant are a very high on Capex.

TECHNOLOGICAL COMPARISON WITH ECOAGULATION


Higher concentration of MLSS gives Better treatment in less space.


Residence time (HRT) of sewage in reactor is low due to high concentration of bacteria.
Bacterial removal is very good, nearly 100%.
The plant takes less start-up time compared to MBBR as the bacterial grow this suspended.

Sludge generation is less due to high biomass concentration.
Removal of nutrients like Ammonia, Nitrate and phosphate is good.
Operating cost of plant is lower or at PAR with a properly functioning conventional technology plant.

Lower MLSS concentration leads to high foot print of treatment plants.


Reactor have high residence time due to low concentration of bacterial mass,increasing the plant foot print and civil cost.

Removal of nutrients like Ammonia, Nitrate and phosphate is poor.
Operating cost of(sub 100 KL) plant is in the range of Rs.12–Rs.20 per KL depending on the operating condition of plant.
